How to use the checklist
Print one copy per visit, or keep the Excel version open on your phone or tablet. Work through it room by room and tick each task as you finish it. At the end, add a note for the customer and record your time in and time out.
Leaving the completed checklist behind shows customers exactly what was done. It also protects you if a customer later says something was missed.
A simple order that saves time
Most professional cleaners follow two rules: top to bottom and dry before wet. Dust high surfaces before low ones, so dust falls onto areas you haven't cleaned yet. Dust and vacuum before you wipe and mop, so you're not spreading wet dust around.
- Start with a quick tidy and empty the bins.
- Spray the bathroom and kitchen surfaces so the product has time to work.
- Dust each room from the top down.
- Go back and wipe the bathroom and kitchen.
- Vacuum, then mop. Work from the back of the home towards the door.
Make it your own
Every home is different. Use the empty lines in the Excel version to add regular requests, like watering plants or cleaning the dog bowl. For a regular customer, save a copy named after them so their preferences are ready every visit.
